Glock 17 Frame Compatibility - The Polymer80 PF9S Serialized Compact Pistol Frame offers compatibility with Glock 17/22 Gen3 components and is an industry first. Features such as the extended beaver tail, double-cut trigger guard and thumb bump significantly improve ergonomics allowing for an efficient grip and better recoil mitigation. The frame is made of reinforced high strength polymer with a Picatinny/STANAG compliant accessory rail. Kit includes blank numbering plates, stainless steel locking block rail system and rear rail modules, Rial System hardened pins, finishing template, drill bits and end mill. This model features an OD Green finish and features an aggressive and responsive grip texture.

You probably have the gist of photos and a pager, but what we're looking at here is a machined and hard anodized 7075 aluminum pistol frame with steel inserts. It is dimensionally compatible with Gen3 GLOCK components, but changes ergo and features.
For example, a genuine Picatinny-spec rail adorns the dust cover, and a great-looking thumb rest (practically a "gas pedal") is machined on either side. Rail, locking block and pin are included.

Next up is the MF409c, which is the first modular frame I can think of with GLOCK compatible parts. The aluminum grip module (trigger guard, grip, beavertail) is a separate piece from the steel rail module (dust cover, locking block area, slide rails, top of grip area, etc.). A Rails module is a serializable "firearms" component.
While this certainly opens up the possibility of swapping out all combinations of short and long slides on short and long frames, it also allows for a lot of fun with color.
